Fantastic $30 Map-Making Humble Bundle Is a Virtual Tabletop GM's Dream

Following a brief run back in April, the Map Making Mega Bundle is back for a limited time that lasts through early December. Described as an extensive collection of mapping tools created by ProFantasy Software throughout their history, the complete package carries a value of more than thirteen hundred dollars. And there are three different bundles available here.

The Main Attraction

The big draw is definitely a lifetime license for Campaign Cartographer 3+, an industry-standard cartography program which enables users to create everything from epic fantasy landscapes, smaller regional maps, urban layouts, and, perhaps most importantly, tactical combat environments.

An imaginative landscape chart created using Campaign Cartographer 3+.

Bundle Tiers

Entry Level

The most affordable option, starting at just one dollar, features merely four of the 39 total items: Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Source Maps: Castles!, and Source Maps: Cities!. This package suits existing CC3+ users, yet it provides fresh fantasy design elements for landscape mapping, over seven hundred fifty creature tokens compatible with online gaming platforms, more than two dozen aerial castle designs with 470 associated map tokens, eight fully mapped cities, plus seventy-plus building interiors.

Intermediate Package

The eight-item bundle for at least $15 offers enhanced value by adding in permanent CC3+ access, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Ultimate Mapping Guidebook, and Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities. The Annual represents the yearly bundle from ProFantasy's ongoing subscription program featuring a variety CC3+ add-ons like map collections and various other tools. Isometric Cities lets you present urban areas in 3D perspective using angled views from multiple angles. And the Tome of Ultimate Mapping is a 760-page for beginners and "power users" alike, packed with guidance and instructions covering cartography techniques.

Complete Collection

For a minimum of $30, the comprehensive package contains these components:

  • Advanced Terrain Generator
  • Dungeon Designer 3
  • Urban Planning Software
  • Cosmic Mapping System
  • Viewpoint Enhancement
  • Dioramas 3
  • Character Artist 3
  • Symbol Set 2: Fantasy Floorplans
  • Contemporary Design Pack
  • Schley Dungeon Collection
  • Schley Urban Pack
  • Monster Token Collection 2
  • Religious Structure Maps
  • Historical War Maps
  • World Builder’s Compendium
  • Cartographer’s Annual Vol 1-17
  • Permanent CC3+ Access
  • Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities
  • Comprehensive Mapping Guide
  • Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland
  • Monster Token Set 1
  • Fortress Source Maps
  • Metropolitan Source Maps

All 17 volumes of Cartographer's Annual come with this bundle, plus numerous additional tools and content enabling creators to craft complete solar systems, or focus exclusively on traditional fantasy world-building: combat arenas, dungeons, urban centers, and continents in multiple viewpoints. You can even design character portraits. For $30 as opposed to $15, the full bundle is so worth it, especially for cartographers who have only the annual CC3+ license and want to upgrade to lifetime. However, it's clearly more advantageous for cartography beginners considering you even get introductory guides to help you get started. The sole limitation is that while the purchase is available on any platform, the applications only function on Windows.

Charitable Component

As with other Humble Bundles, part of every purchase goes to benefit a nonprofit. For this one, the beneficiary is Save the Children, an organization founded by Eglantyne Jebb in 1919 focused on improving the lives of children worldwide via educational programs, medical services, and crisis response. The Bundle Filters option appear near the page top, but you can also select their donation amount in the right-hand section. Additionally available is an donation allocation menu immediately below, enabling adjustment of the distribution percentage goes to Humble, Profantasy, and Save the Children.
